July 04, 2008Independent Open Thread: Whatcha Doing This Weekend?We're ALL down with the flu, so we're being on the unenergetic side. The plans are to eat a roast chicken we got at Central Market yesterday in a neighborhood park and then take in fireworks from a distance in a mall parking lot with a good view but farish away. Never believe recipes when they're titled "Simple." I just tried a recipe for some meat sauce that was trying to be really good and have some of the virtues of a certain, fancy, long-cooking meat sauce called Bolognese, without taking as ridiculously long. Well, they're 1 and 1. It was really good, but took 5/6 as long. Please post a comment
