Back on the Scene

Hi folks. I haven't been around for quite a while. I took a step back from blogging a little over a year ago, when I decided to try to write a book. I'm just at the finishing stages of the book, and it's about to go to the printer.

I'll have a little more to say about the book in a while. It probably won't be available for a month, at least. I just wanted to post a little something, because I may start sharing a few thoughts here from time to time, and I'm not sure how many of you guys remember me.

Glad to see things are still going strong here. I like the infusion of new blood.

Welcome back, Bill. I was wondering where you got off to.I just started blogging here again after a 6 month hiatus, under a new moniker.

For awhile Jon Kay was carrying the whole weight.

Welcome back! I'm curious to hear what the book's about.

My wife's working on a book, on her academic area.

Thanks to you both. I figured you were new here, critter. So who were you before you got Kranky?

The book is called The Missing Middle. It's about the growth of the left and right movements during the Clinton/Bush era and the resulting squeeze on voices from the middle.

I frankly don't know if it's any good, but I'm very, very excited to be done with it and not to have to fool with it anymore.

Thanks, by the way, for keeping things going here. I've been able to check in, occasionally, and you guys are doing a great job.

Bill, welcome back. I hope you, Jon, and bk (I was wondering who this "Kranky Kritter" guy was) can breath some new life back in the place. Tully, Simon, and I still have a soft spot in the heart for Centerfield. The place hasn't been the same since Unity '08 distracted everybody, right after that New York meeting of the Centrist Coalition.
