January 08, 2008Obama Or Hillary For The Big Win?My money's STILL on Hillary for the big win - she still has the better organization in 50 states. My vote's also still with Hillary, though as ever, I won't be unhappy if Obama wins. He's been paying less attention to Iraq and other important foreign policy issues. But I do think Obama would do better for me domestically - less of a mommy state, and IMHO he'd do fine econwise. I think he has the vital-for-me centrist quality of always trying to figure out what's going on. If he wins, I'll be happy supporting him in the general, unlike the weak Gore and Kerry of the last two Presidential election cycles. UPDATE Maybe Hillary isn't so organized after all, if her Campaign Head Cheese is saying things like this:
Way to hand plenty of folx to Obama - Arrogance is a good way to lose ANY campaign. It's like failing to issue coats to your troops invading Russia. Now I think Obama has the edge. Posted by Jon Kay at January 8, 2008 12:34 AMComments
But Hilary is the biggest scumbag of them all. That's saying something when you're talking about a group of politicians. I disagree with Obama's politics, but I hope he gets the nomination because he at least seems genuine... worthy of being President. I don't believe a single thing Hilary says without outside confirmation. Posted by: Justin (NC) at January 8, 2008 07:13 AMI don't get the Clinton-hatred. She seems much less harmful to me than, say, the clearly corrupt Delay and Reid. Though I certainly don't trust her much as Obama, either. I do, though, think this centrist rightie is on to something (well worth reading). Extra points for showing sympathy for his, er, enemy. Stopped by to read the post and comments. Obama will give away as much taxpayer money as possible. Obama has zilch experience. What is this fervor but like a some big preacher speaking to crowds? Clinton is an elitist-socialist. Neither are very good candidates. It's the lesser of the evils. All the way around, it's the lesser of the evils. Posted by: alex at January 9, 2008 01:38 PMObama will give away as much taxpayer money as possible. So true. But he'll give away less than his GOP counterpart, since he'll bother to balance the budget. Don't take my word for it - look up the GOP vs Dem spending habits of the last three decades (yes, both deficits AND spending have generally been higher w/GOP prexys). Obama has zilch experience. That statement's pretty ironic. I take it you're a Republican? Well, as Starbucks Republican pointed out here, he has every bit as much experience as your party's first President. Most people think Abe Lincoln did OK in the job. Lincoln ran a small law office, Obama ran a smallish community organization. Both did well as state senators. Sorry, but you're in error. Fact facts. Obama has been a quota all the way through whatever career purported. Yes, he is a liberal spender. Also, do not think Lincoln was such a good President. Am of the Smart Independents grouping.
