November 09, 2007Open Thread: New Zombie ResearchToday, because I'm such a history buff, I'm linking to the latest Zombie research, on Zombies in ancient Hierakonpolis. In lighter news, the Profesora, the kid and I are taking a good look at a house we're thinking about making an offer for. It's in a neighborhood a notch farther into the South Austin 'burbs. The statistics show it to be relatively Zombie-free, though of course you can never be sure. Posted by Jon Kay at November 9, 2007 01:57 PMComments
Wow, at first I though it was a spoof. Now that's all the world needs now is a wave of Zombies. I wonder what some defense tech companies might be up to with this virus....LOL This makes one wonder what other myths have a basis in fact. And speaking of facts, here is some fact-checking in regards to Hillary Clinton. I have some issue with the spin given to her comments about torture. But in any case, here is an update. Also Bhutto has been released from house arrest. Let's see what she can agitate. Musharraf claims Khan supplied NK P2 technology and other nuclear goodies, but NK is now denying it has any uranium enrichment program. And they didn't help Syria either...LOL Albright says this is nonsense and that NK is making a big mistake denying their programs. It was nice however to see NK thank the US for saving a NK ship from Somalian pirates. Zombies and Pirates...interesting week. Now all we need is another Davinci code to make it complete.......oh? I forgot this. Posted by: Maxtrue at November 10, 2007 10:03 AMWe put in an offer on a house, yay! Prayer-time.... Sorry I've been a little slow to respond on some threads. Er, Max, it IS a spoof. There is no Solanum virus. But just in case, guys, you might want to pick up a copy of this.... Posted by: Tully at November 11, 2007 04:38 PMThanks Tully. As I Googled Jon's article I found out out I was being rather zombish myself in reading.....and I was relieved to find out I had one less thing to be concerned about. When I came back from getting coffee this morning from a line at Starbucks, I wondered if that zombie Solanum virus is real and that caffine is the cure..... Seems to have effected the Colts and the Steelers (until the closing minutes). Poor Oakland....sad Giants. New England is on quite a run.
Also Fat Santas are out and brothels are in. This news site also has headlines about how lobsters feel pain when boiled..... Posted by: Maxtrue at November 12, 2007 09:05 AMBobby's still helping the eco-devo drive in Iraq, in a new province. Since State Dept employees are too whiny-chicken to do the work, they recruited a real man. Posted by: Tully at November 12, 2007 09:25 AMI wish he could sneak out a blog article or two on what he sees is happening. I guess the military has strict control of communications getting to the Free Press. When you touch base with him, wish him happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas from me. Yes, real men, something the State Department must be short of. Perhaps that is why they cleared Blackwater.....who else is going to cover their asses? (not that half these cowboys are par with the military). Kudos to veterans! (Lt. Col. Gadson) And for all who are in the process of becoming veterans. Posted by: Maxtrue at November 12, 2007 10:58 AMI wish he could sneak out a blog article or two on what he sees is happening. I guess the military has strict control of communications getting to the Free Press. Not at all. The "free press" just seems massively disinterested in reporting good news. See here. Posted by: Tully at November 12, 2007 01:10 PMGreat link. On the border with Iran, eh? You are right about the "Free Press". I just looked at the front pages of most major papers. Almost 90% bad news regarding Iraq. Thanks again for the link and a window into what Bobby has been up to in Iraq. The plight of women in the Middle East is largely ignored by the press, except of course if it is about Bhutto back under house arrest. Should Musharraf allow her and her followers to be blown up? How dare Musharraf take away her choice. No, reports are about a woman and child blown up with militants in Afghanistan by US soldiers lead the news tape. Lost are all the children the Taliban targeted at a scholl a few days ago. Disinterested is an understatement. Front page NYT about an Iraqi taxi driver shot by private security forces. Even Hillary acting like Bush. The filter is intentional. Posted by: Maxtrue at November 12, 2007 03:57 PMa follow up on Bobby's remarks about women in Iraq Notice even the AP declares, "the trend towards better security is indisputable". This puts into context the recent Democratic cutting of troop funding to Iraq and Afghanistan. Will Democratic leadership still claim Iraq is lost? Will Democrats score points trying to pull out as even the AP thinks US strategy in Iraq is working? You decide.
