Open Thread: Something Worth Fearing
Forty-six years ago and a day, the
biggest bomb ever exploded was
tested. It was a Soviet 50-Megaton bomb.

On a related note, the Russians also commited genocide against the native Indians of the Artic (besides leaving their fallout decades later). In their effort to pillage the Artics resources, they killed thousands of native families. Perhaps Lantos can address that in some future resolution.
Makes you wonder about the Russian claims on the Artic seafloor.
On the topic of nukes, these weapons seem less secure after reading this report regarding the Pakistan military. World Opinion Poll has some disheartening poll numbers from Pakistan and elements in the Pakistan military seem compromised.
Last, the Russians are planning new nukes to counter our missile defense. They have recently set off the mother of all conventional bombs. Seems their research is based on a lot of US secrets. MARVs, B-1 stealth bombers and an F-22 look-a-like for starters. Yep, we know where those high oil revenues are going. Fortunately, not into air defense at the moment.
Will send another email and let's do the account set up again. I think you recieved a strange email weeks back intended for another Jon. Sorry about that.......
