Some of the rhetoric for this movement was supplied by a number of wealthy family's lobbyists, notably the heads of the Campbell soup family, who were bent on reducing inheritance taxes and their overall tax burden. What is telling is the adherence to this supply side doctrine in the face of overwhelming evidence that it is a fawlty tower of economics.
