That's interesting - do candidates normally make this kind of offer before the convention (I remember Bush wouldn't talk veeps, but that's as far as my memory goes on this topic). Leave it to the brain dead main stream country club Republicans to nominate a presidential ticket that virtually all of their house and senate candidates would have to run away from. A McCain/Giuliani ticket would result in an electorial college landslide win for the Democrats. Giuliani's commitment to the base is already suspect, so he would only weaken his ticket by adding another person whose loyalty to the base is suspect. The VP slot tends to balance out whatever the weakness of the Presidential slot is. Given Giuliani's position on some issues on the left, I think it will have to be someone who is pretty conservative like Thompson or Huckabee.
