August 17, 2007New Generation? We need some new people. I'm doing most of the posting, and my life doesn't allow for more than posting 2-3x/week (the new baby certainly doesn't help), not enough to keep traffic up. Without some more involvement, we're dead. I'm going to ask 2-3 people if they're interested in joining the poster list. challenge you to help me with this. If you're reading this and interested in posting, or have some idea you want to share, please email me. Suggestions on the proper relationship between StubbornFacts and Centerfield would probably also be a good thing for this thread. Posted by Jon Kay at August 17, 2007 02:52 PMComments
Does the proper relationship have to do with simmering envy about their 100Kth visitor? JK... I've kinda noticed it's been the Jon Kay show lately and things have really fallen off for quite awhile. What happened to Brian? Not just a little bit of irony when you think that lots of people believe Centrists are people who aren't that interested in taking the time to find a position. I can't manage to find the energy to write in my own blog so I doubt I'd help much. Not to mention, I'm not much of a centrist. It sucks that the blog is slowly dying. Posted by: Scotch Drinker at August 17, 2007 07:37 PMJon, did Tully have any suggestions? Well, it got to a point where I wondered if my posting threads were causing some disinterest here, so I stopped. I can up my comments, but work is coming soon that will limit my time, but seriously, it takes more than three or four to create a village. Jon has been holding the line by himself. I'll think about innovative ideas, hell Pat posted a sweat-soaked Selma at SF. Maybe CF should have a photo gallery. You know, a picture is worth a thousand words.... SD is it the scotch? Here one for ya.. Arkansas has real babes Scotch Drinker - CF's had four times as many total visitors as SF, so unlikely. ;) We're still playing catchup. :) Posted by: Simon at August 17, 2007 11:20 PMThe problem is that Centerfield's original reason for existence was as the "official blog of the Centrist Coalition," but the Centrist Coalition slowly passed away not long after the first official meeting in New York last year. I would hate to see CF fold in the tent, though. Election season will be upon us soon, and blog traffic everywhere will go up. But I think the thing you have to do is figure out the new CF niche in the blogosphere. Maybe you could sign up a bunch of other moderate or centrist bloggers and CF could be primarily a clearinghouse.... each day they come put an Instapundit-style summary and link to the key posts on their blogs. Of course we love having everybody come visit us at Stubborn Facts, but there should be plenty of room for both of us. Posted by: PatHMV at August 18, 2007 04:09 AMI guess one big problem has been that the original people who were recruiting new posters have stopped. We should've taken action long ago to start thickening the ranks - it was unreasonable to expect them to keep on this forever (but they did a pretty good job!). I've been both too intellectually lazy to get over my shyness at that kind of thing. I realized that there's one important request I didn't think to make in the post: help with recruiting. If I do it all, we'll get a small number of people with viewpoints not too to different from mine. Small because I'm shy and not very good at talking to many people, people like me because, well, I'm human. Anyway, if you're interested in joining the Recruiting Committee, please let me know (email, again). Posted by: Jon Kay at August 19, 2007 04:16 AM |
