Suppose (alternate history here) that the immigration bill was not currently in play. How much hysteria would we be seeing at the official White House website bluntly referring to Heather Poe as one of the parents of the latest Cheney grandchild?

A cynic could believe that the administration is making a push on the immigration issue just (or at least partly) in order to provide distraction.

I made some fondue last Monday, which gave me a good excuse to score some Laird&Co. applejack, an apple liquor. Nice stuff.

The bottle claims that none other than one Gen Washington adopted their family recipe in 1760.

Maybe this comment should be in the NFL thread, though? ;-)

Good deal, Jon. Just keep it out of the reach of the kids. "Hey, Daddy brought home some applejacks! Let's have it for breakfast!" ;-)

For those of you out there who think you're blogging in shadow and obscurity, take heart; at least you're not the world's most hated blogger.

Back about seven or eight years ago, Motorola touted Iridium when it predicted bettering Qualcomm in the near future. Now who's laughing? Globalstar? To repeat an earlier thread: many declared they had technology and plans that were better than Q's. They lied. There was little regulation of corporate claims and those by brokers and banks. Had the market been devoid of such pathetic tactics, connectivity and lower prices would be further along. WCDMA, TDMA, Iridium are yesterday's technology and patents are the only thing that prevented Q from surviving base tactics by desperate corporations claiming the opposite was true.
