March 15, 2007NCAA tournament threadMy pick is UCLA to win it all. Posted by Todd Pearson at March 15, 2007 03:43 PMComments
Lots of folks seem to be picking Kansas. I have no clue, but am hoping to see a few games involving Kevin Durant (Texas) and Greg Oden (Ohio State), who are the consensus top 2 picks in the next NBA draft if they come out. They're both freshman. I'm hoping one of them is wearing Green come this October. Posted by: bk at March 15, 2007 04:19 PMAll of the higher seeds have won so far. Of course, I had this as "upset afternoon" in my pool picks. Posted by: Todd Pearson at March 15, 2007 06:40 PMI had all the favorites (I make two entries each year, one with nothing but favorites and then another based on my supreme lack of knowledge concerning college basketball) so I'm pretty happy right now, leading the office pool. Posted by: Scotch Drinker at March 15, 2007 07:09 PMKU! Alma mater of the brightest and best :) Also home of the lamest chant in college (if they still use it). "Rock, chalk, Jayhawk". Whats that? I don't have a clue what it means. Tully? Posted by: Dennis at March 15, 2007 08:56 PMStanford shouldn't ahve been there in teh first place. ouch! BTW, Cal version of UCLA chant F-U-C-L-A that's for stealing our fight song..... Posted by: Marcus at March 15, 2007 09:21 PMNeedless to say, I'm rooting for KU. Just 'cause MY team's not in it despite their strong start, and 'cause I don't otherwise give a hoot for basketball and might as well. Woo. Hoo. K. U. Also home of the lamest chant in college (if they still use it). "Rock, chalk, Jayhawk". Whats that? I don't have a clue what it means. Tully? Teddy Roosevelt sez you're wrong about "lame," as do many many thousands and several generations of Kansas GI's. But since you asked....
BTW, marcus, for fun college trivia.... The local Quaker-founded college is called Friends University. Long ago, the official name of the school was Friends University of Central Kansas. :-) At least, that's the story. The university has been noticeably reticent about helping researchers confirm it. Posted by: Tully at March 15, 2007 11:34 PMScotch, I did the very same thing. I'm 13-3 in both of them. Get an upset here, lose one there. Posted by: WHQ at March 16, 2007 10:14 AM |
