I confess to being somewhat surprised that, having come out so strongly in favor of Hoyer for Majority Leader, the Moose didn't even mention the results of yesterday's Democratic caucus. I would have expected him, on past form, to at least rejoice a little. But perhaps something has abruptly come up in his life, that jerked him abruptly away from his blog.... Posted by: wj at November 17, 2006 12:11 PMNooooooo!!!!! Noooooo!!!! Nooooo!!!! Posted by: Mathew at November 17, 2006 03:04 PMPure but reasonable speculation--the Moose, a seasoned Beltway/Congressional pro staffer, has found some fresh employment inside the Beltway with the new Congress. Don't cry for him. He will do quite well, and we will see him again. Just maybe not blogging anytime soon. (It's OK to cry for yourself.) Posted by: Tully at November 17, 2006 03:55 PMDon't cry for me, Argentina...on second thought, cry for me because the Bull Moose has gone out to pasture. (Just like Media Whores, or as s/he was called "The Horse.") Posted by: Blue Jean at November 17, 2006 04:33 PMThe Moose: The great and grand political development of the past year has been the triumph of Independent - Democrat Senator Joe Lieberman. Yep. Senator Joe Lieberman's victory in retaining his Senate seat was the great political development of the past year. Other than that, it was a pretty uneventful election year. Posted by: nicrivera at November 17, 2006 06:48 PMI'll miss the moose. Just got back from Madame Butterfly and not being served dinner. The opera was great. There's something I've been wondering if anybody knows about cat breed colors. I have a cat that's a brown domestic tabby. But she's pretty much black with white tabby stripes; only in a very particular, bright light is she brown. We also have a domestic calico, defined as black, white, and red all mixed in. Black, check, white, check, but the third color is orange. And next door lives a red Persian who's decidedly orange. Are the people who invented these colors colorblind? And, is this also true of dog breed colors? Posted by: Jon Kay at November 18, 2006 02:03 AM I'll miss the moose. I almost always agreed with his point of view. Posted by: Paul in Austin at November 19, 2006 07:00 PMCongratulations, bk,the Dems won! Later! Take Care! Posted by: Paul Daly at November 21, 2006 12:55 PMAnd for anyone who hasn't yet caught the breaking news, The Moose has resurfaced as Senate Communications Director for Senator Joe Lieberman. Good going, Moose. Don't forget to remind the boss that he has friends on both sides of the aisle, people who may not agree with him much but respect him enormously.
