G-d Bless, not flatten, America.

I have been fortunate to have two distractions from Katrina/Rita, as well as my miserable Minnesota Vikings. First, we got a new Golden Retriever puppy. I forgot how much work having a puppy is. Second, I am getting ready to run in the Twin Cities Marathon next weekend, which will be my first (and last?) marathon. Before March of this year, I had never run more than 5 miles at one time so it has been a long 6 months of gearing up. I'm ready to get it over with.

I ran the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon in 2003 and it was a blast. You really get a great sense of accomplishment from finishing. However, I remember in the last weeks leading up to the race, I was so sick of running 45 miles a week, I could hardly stand it.

Good luck, it's definitely worth it.

Yeah, this thread blows. Where's the talk about beer? All you people who want to chat about wine and cheese can stay here.

Thank you, Brian. Can I throw my cocktail chunk of Brie at you when you leave? ;-)

Carla,

Speaking of discrimination, here's another example of religious tolerance in action.

I guess when Christ said "Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for such is the kingdom of heaven.", He forgot to add "Unless they have gay parents, of course." ;-)

Maybe I should throw that Brie cheese chunk at myself for linking badly. Try this.
