With the recent spate of blog plugging, I wanted to note that I am currently putting the finishing touches to my own blog and its supporting software.

The beta version can be found here; the title is - depending on how you want to look at it - either "I Respectfully Dissent", "Fiat justitia ruat coelum", or an amalgum of both. I havne't decided, I like both, and I may just retain the latin passage as a motto rather than a title.

The software platform is called Noise2Signal, and it is probably 70% or 80% done; there's several things which aren't really working yet, two of which are major. I'm not convinced about this colorscheme, either - I don't much like pastels. But it's got some neat features; the project got started because of the need to integrate the user table with the data structure of RealTime, which was the volunteer management system I wrote for the Olympia Snowe site. For those keeping track, Sen. Snowe now has an official website for her 2006 election bid. It is extremely rudimentary, and were I not very busy with other projects, I would call up and offer assistance. Well, there's that, and honestly, I guess I'd kinda like them to ask, actually. ;)

Aargh, matey! That it be, ya scurvy sea-dogs!

Posted by: Tully at September 19, 2005 07:09 PM

Ahoy, mateys!

Shiver me timbers!

I've been thinking of taking another blog-break.
It's time.

Got just one more simple post in the pipeline, that I hope to get out soon if that damned parrot stops dripping thing on my keyboard.

Arr!

DON'T FEED THAT PARROT BLUEBERRIES!

Trust me on this one.

I always thought that "TLAPD" should include all addresses made from the House floor in approrpiations season....

What do you guys think of a personal ad containing "...enjoys weighing himself before and after bowel movements.."? I think it would be a real eye-catcher and would attract only the best potential women. Oh, yeah, um... ahoy?

That's a wonderful way to not meet people.

Just watched Monday Night Football, notably the late-night Cowboys-Skins grudge match. I'm a 'Skins fan.

Boy, I could not believe my eyes. This kind of thing is why I watch football.

In case you didn't watch the game, but do care about football, lemme tell you that the score was 13-0 Dallas ahead halfway through the 4th quarter, there's been a 9-year dry spell for the 'Skins vs. the Cowboys, and they had yet to have any touchdowns this season. They won. They came up with two touchdown passes in a row, and (barely) held the score there.

If you'd told me that the game would be won by somebody scampering right by Roy Williams, I wouldn't've believed you. Yeah, Santana Moss is one fast dude, but I'm also a 'Horns fan and've seen Williams do incredibly fast defensive plays for years. Of course, one especially has to congratulate the very sneaky DC D for having faith to keep the score that close.

Washington is on Cloud 9 after the win. I was going to go to bed, but for some reason I didn't and, unlike many people, actually saw the end of the game. So much for the presumptious fans trumpeting "America's Team"!

DOHHH!!! I fell asleep and missed the comeback. No biggie. The Eagles will still take the division.

Posted by: WHQ at September 20, 2005 11:52 AM

How about a thread for predictions on the Roberts vote.

Posted by: Susan at September 20, 2005 05:51 PM

Skins still suck!!

Rogers confirmed, fairly close to party lines, no filibuster.

Next question...

Posted by: C3 at September 20, 2005 07:55 PM

Chris be right here, Susan, though Las Vegas Harry be throwin' his own two copper bits in...

Must go and take ye olde Parrot to yon veternarian--him be allergic to blueberries; the Parrot, not the vet--oh, wait, "Talk Like A Pirate" Day be over?

Arrrrr...I mean, darn.

Thanks, mateys! 'Till next year, then!
