A Weblog of Centrist Voices in American Politics |
|
March 25, 2005Chatters, Foreign And DomesticBoston centrists, both of us, met last night. I must say that I'm disappointed in the lack of interest in actually meeting, and potentially doing something, as opposed to chatting. That said, Art and I had a pleasant evening. Art is a college student in Boston with a strong interest in foreign affairs. We spent a lot of time speaking about the conflicts in the Middle East, and how difficult it is to really understand people across cultures. When you think of how much of a disconnect and lack of mutual understanding there is between Red America and Blue America, you can imagine how much further must be the distance to people of entirely different cultures. With that in mind, international blogs are a great way to get a peek at what people in other cultures are thinking. Former CNN Beijing bureau chief Rebecca MacKinnon has been following international blogs, and through the Global Voices initiative, will be conducting an internet chat with two Malyasian bloggers this morning at 10AM Eastern Time. It's almost time. Check it out! Comments
Rick, I would have love to come, but it's a little drive from here... I think a meetup would be cool, I guess it's just challenging with so many of us spread throughout the country. Posted by: AH at March 25, 2005 10:26 AM |
