Medicare will go under in about 15 years without changes. The Medicare drug benefit has speeded that timetable up and that phenonenom will likely accelerate. This is not just an American problem its just that since we're the most expensive and we have the largest uninsured problem we're more accutely aware of the problem. Maybe the Dems can get traction on a serious national debate. Flexible spending accounts is probably just playing at the margins.
