Real State of the Union

Please read Mark Satin's writeup of the Real State Of the Union National Policy Forum, co-sponsored by the New America Foundation. This is one of the biggest meetings of centrists in Washington, D.C. I expect that next year, the Centrist Coalition may participate in this meeting.

Nice wrap-up. I particularly enjoyed Jonathan Rauch's comments.

Sorry, don't agree much with the thinking of that grouping. For one ex., yeah, sure, govt. should give big to low income and low as sets types. Youthful exuberance and youth has energy, but at @age 40 if someone has read, experienced, developed ability to see consequences, and developed self-discipline, he/she brings much more to the table. (Use of Reason must be emphasized and focused pattern by that time to most for peer company).

Think there is a cycle to life. Strongly think that was denied by emphasis on youthful clueless
Boomers ( wannabes, yuppy lifestyles, and now guppy offpspring), which caused problems for our country--in several ways.

Yeah, I enjoyed it, too. Rauch is pretty sharp, he writes for Reason online.
