I'm watching "Inherit the Wind" with Frederic March and Spencer Tracy. I saw it and loved it, years ago. Given the results of the most recent election, I thought a refresher would be appropriate.

If it's good enough for Brady, it's good enough for me!

I have today off from work, but I am NOT going anywhere near any major shopping area! Just seeing the madness on the news reports strenghtens my resolve to do no shopping on the day after Thanksgiving! I don't care how great the bargains might be!

Agreed Heather. My sister is up at the crack of dawn annually to participate in this ritual melee. I avoid it like the plague. She's a confirmed shop-a-holic. I'm shop-a-phobic. :)

Driving home last night I saw people already on line at Best Buy at 10:30.

Tully, now that's really crazy!! I have never figured out people do stuff like that.

Besides... these days you can get an even better deal online without even having to leave the comfort of home! :D

We are spending the holiday visiting my wife's parents in Sun City West, Arizona. They bought a house here last May.

It is a different world here. All of the houses in the city are, basically, the same color. By the way, you can't own property here unless you are 55 or older. No children live here and, other than one Asian man, I have not seen anyone who is not white.

I can see why retired people would like it here because the place is organized to provide endless opportunities to keep busy and make friends, but I don't think that this will be for us.

I think I can safely say the only way you'd catch me in Sun City would be if I were too incapacitated to prevent it by physical violence or court order. Clonesville! Ayieee! Not for me.

When I retire I'll either stay where I am in my nicely diverse and friendly suburban neighborhood, or get an apartment downtown and a ranch in the middle of nowhere (with creek and trees and game).

Well, Heather, I looked at their flyer and they did have some super deals, but the thought of putting myself through that to save a couple of hundred bucks, well, I'd rather spend the money.

I did once sit two days on line to get Rolling Stones tickets, which I promptly scalped (all but two) for a very nice profit of about a month's rent. But I was young and I really needed the money....
