November 19, 2004Naming namesI'm working on updating Centrist Coalition's "Candidate Profiles" list. I've got a list of several senators and several governors that I need to draft profiles for, but this list is pretty thin on U.S. representatives and state political figures. So, how about it? Do you all have any U.S. representatives that you think are marvelous centrists that you think we should profile? What about politicians at your individual state levels? Can I get some names out of you? And if you're a Plains Stater, a Mountain Stater, a Texan, an Alaskan, or a Hawaiian, I'd doubly love to hear from you! From Arizona. First the obvious: John McCain US Senator. Others: Gov. Janet Napolitano, Democrat. Possibly Jim Kolbe Republican Rep from Tucson, Now probably out of the limelight would be ex-gov Bruce Babbitt, Dem Posted by: Chris at November 20, 2004 08:44 AMFrom Nebraska--Sen. Chuck Hagel, a true Babbitt? Is that the same guy who was Sec. of the Interior under Clinton? Posted by: Jason at November 22, 2004 10:14 AMAre you looking for elected officials only? I think Michael Leavitt, the current EPA administrator is pretty moderate guy. He leans right, obviously, but he's not an extremist IMO. Posted by: Jason at November 22, 2004 10:26 AMJason; |
