A Deradicalization?

John Perry Barlow is magnanimous in defeat. Hopefully an early sign of some deradicalization? Posted by Jon Kay at November 9, 2004 12:09 AM

Define deradicalization; and then after you do, please tell me if you think it's a good idea for the Religious Right and the neo-conservatives, too.

As for me, I've become firmer, not softer, after the election. I won't give an inch in my defense of our American, Enlightenment heritage. I grew up in a Christian household, and I was homeschooled with materials written by Christians who believed in establishing theocracy in America. I have lived in two red states, one swing state and one blue state. I have spent most of my life in the red areas. So please don't lecture me about learning to undertand the rest of the population. It's not about persuading them anymore. Now, it's about preserving my identity and my values.
