Send the Peacekeepers! Umm, maybe not...

Everyone who loves the idea of sending UN peacekeepers to take over in Iraq should read this story in the Washington Times....

On a side note, everyone have a great Memorial Day weekend. I take off today for an extended weekend myself. Wear your seat belts and be careful out there.

IN MEMORIAM:

Thomas H. Roberts b.(1804?) d. March 6, 1836, San Antonio TX.

(One of many in a long list kept by my family.)

Yeah those guys would be REAL successful in Iraq. Kerry is supposed to give a major foreign policy speech today, I wonder how heavily it will rely on the UN.

Did Kerry ever say U.N. peacekeepers should be in Iraq? IIRC, he proposed a military role for NATO, but not the U.N.

Agree, don't want UN control and taking over.
Thought also he said use of NATO for military role.

Also, heard that more National Guard trained as mechanics are being ordered over. Oh, the grandiose delusions of all the chicken-hawks involved and what they have wrought on our fellow citizens [including their empire building spending.

The Washington Times is basically a shill for Bush, ya'll.

Not an especially great source.

So, Carla, do you believe that every paper with a conservative bent is a shill for Bush? Can we then take it as a given that every paper with a liberal bent is a shill for Kerry?

For the record, early last year I published not one but two 700-word editorials in the Washington Times, both of them bashing the Bush administration on a specific domestic policy issue. And they let me have the last word. Not exactly a shill move.
