April 30, 2004Iraqi Prisoner AbusesHow could anyone be this sick and this stupid? I am dumb-founded. And I am afraid that the damage will be deep and permanent. Posted by Todd Pearson at April 30, 2004 02:55 PMComments
Yup. Very bad. At least both Bush and Kimmit have reacted with unreserved condemnation. I expect that the soldiers involved are going to be found out and treated harshly, as they deserve. Will that be enough? I dunno. It's a huge hit on whatever remains in the dwindling reservoir of trust the Iraqis may have in us. Posted by: bk at April 30, 2004 03:18 PMI agree, bk. But, it's more than just the Iraqis. This thing has huge implications across the entire region. Posted by: Kevin at May 1, 2004 01:11 AMThis is quite distressing. Until now, I've simply been able to blame Bush for anything Iraq-related, but I see now that depravity runs deep. Posted by: Greg Pallas at May 3, 2004 09:42 AMWhat these soldiers did to the prisoners is going to have dire consequences for coalition soldiers both male and female. Islamict extremist are not going to take prisoners, they will torture and kill them from now on.
