December 31, 2003Blogging The Ads - What IfOver at The Blogging Of The President :2004 Bopnotes community, I've put up a link to a webcast of the new Wesley Clark ad featuring Bill Clinton. The idea of Blogging The Ads is to get independent bloggers to review ads both for accuracy, and impact on the horse race. This one is a soft-focus ad meant to get voters all misty-eyed about Wesley Clark. It's upbeat and even Reaganesque. The narrator's voice reminds me of "Morning in America." Indeed, I think the ad might appeal more to Independents and Republicans until you come to the footage of President Clinton decorating General Clark. That's sure to make Republicans blanch. It also saves the ad from being too sugary for Democrats, who seem to be in a surly mood this year. It also implicitly sets up a Clinton vs. Gore rivalry, with Dean in the Gore camp, Clark in the Clinton camp, and the rest of the candidates out in the field. I like it, but then, I'm an Independent. I invite you to view the ad, and leave your comments below, or over at BOPnotes. Posted by rickheller at December 31, 2003 01:20 PMComments
The ad says nothing, represents nothing, defines nothing and parasites from a known host. This is the perfect ad for Clark. I don't think any clear thinking Independent will be swayed by the ad. Posted by: Robert Swaim at December 31, 2003 06:19 PM |
