Wesley Clark - Get Ready, Get Set, GO! Now!

I hope Wesley Clark throws his hat in the race for president. If he's to have any hope, it will have to be as a candidate for the democratic nomination. There's no way to challenge Bush from within the GOP and -- with Perot's candidacy still in recent memory -- I don't think the public will rally to an independent. In some ways I wish that were not so, but I believe it is.

If he wants to be President, he's got to run for it.

Waiting around to perhaps be chosen as the Vice Presidential candidate on what may well be a losing ticket dramatically lowers the chances of reaching that ultimate goal.

I agree that he needs to announce now.

Waiting to this point was, I think, masterful. The field remained muddled for so long, and none of the major contenders emerged as a leader. Instead, a "longshot" has gotten major momentum, while also worrying a lot of Democrats.

It's very possible if he announced now that he would draw the bulk of the "not Dean" support.

Being a non-candidate candidate has actually worked quite well for him -- garnering him as much press as most of the other candidates, but also reinforcing his fresh, outsider status.

But he's got to move now to avoid what you suggest -- the feeling that he's reluctant to commit to the Democratic party.

It is getting close to the moment to declare - but not quite. Kerry is about to unload a barrage of ads, and have his announcement speech. The best time to announce is when Kerry has done everything, and still gotten nothing. Say the 13th at the Truman Dinner in Tennessee.

We may get to see a famous TN native there as well.

I believe that Gen. Clark will announce early next week. I don't think the additional wait time, will harm him at all.

I think he has played his "cards" correctly up til now, and believe he will continue you to do so.

Rumor has it the Sept. 8th may be the day.

Guess we wait to see.

I am personally counting it as a now show. His views and opinions, while good for the american knowledge is not good for the overal country. Why follow someone because their views are good for you and the people that you converse with. Though you yourself may think that this is a good idea for him to run, many have a verient opinin but are still enshadowed not to speak. Well I am here to speak on every topic relating to anything. You want to go against me as a person and try to break down my thought process the I commend you. Clark may be for the people, but the people are one part of this Coutry, what about the other parts? He must concentrate on all views and not just what you and anyone else wants to here. Though it may be msuic to your ears it is a stab at te heart of American and U.S society.

We jumped on the Clark bandwagon 30 days ago, and if anyone would have told us we would be looking at these polling numbers on 9/23 with Clark distancing himself from the Demo pack and leading Bush in a head to head race, I would be telling them they were dreaming. Well here we are with a dream come true. When someone tells you he has no political experience, just say "GGGRRREATTTT!
